If you ever wake up to shreeks like someone was being strangled.. just check out the window first as it could also be geese as it was in our case waking up at Henley Park beside a lake!
We had success finding the best cafe in town for a late breakfast, found a lovely New woollen/possum jumper for Mal and did our foodshop for the next few days. Next stop, Castlepoint!
A gorgeous drive through rolling farmland and true kiwi farmers (we spotted two trucks loaded with wild pigs and deer etc passing us!). Arrived to an amazing coastal holiday settlement of Castlepoint which must be a secret hidden gem as I had no idea how amazing it is!
Parked up in a free overnight spot near the beach and took a walk to the lighthouse and past the village. It will be hard not to stare out the window all the time we are here! 😍
