12 Jul 2020 Algies Bay to Home

Savouring the last moments of our wonderful holiday at the Warkworth French cafe

All good things must come to an end and so did our holiday. After possibly one of the worst night sleeps on tour (due to the steep angle of the vehicle at Algies Bay carpark) we made our way to the French Cafe for coffee and croissant. Fortunately the group of old fogies in bike gear (who we saw later on driving off by car with no sign of bikes?) had not finished off all the pastries by the time we made it there!

The drive home felt nice and easy after some of the more challenging roads we had taken. The view at the top of the Brynderwyns tells us we are almost home. It’s such a gorgeous view!

The Motorhome was emptied out, given a quick clean and then returned to it’s owners. A great tour behind us we enjoyed a Sauna and the best sleep in a month!

[mal] yes, such a gorgeous night’s rest .. in the absence of smart thinking, before we left, I had booked a dentist appointment for 8.30; I woke to a gentle touch to the head from Tiina to tell me the alarm was calling – I hated that alarm with passion!

But as Tiina says, all good things come to an end and reality now kicks in.

But we are home, made it back together and we have such great memories of our great adventure..

Finland or South Island, here we come! watch out for our next blog 🙂
