Alas our plan to watch the latest Rocket Lab launch was scuppered – allegedley due to winds but we woke to a stunning calm and sunny morning – really not sure why they didnt launch. But no matter – we got to see a completely different looking beach to yesterday

We decided to go up to the top of “the hill” to check out the view for the potential launch tomorrow. The hill is the point jutting out to the right of that last photo
Gotta say it was hard bloody hard going. Out of breath, with heart attempting an escape route through my chest, we finally made it to the top – and holy moley!

Followed of course by a well-earned beer at the local pub, with Mt. Ball-break in the background

it’s now 4.30, the sun is going down and the temp dropping along with it so we ventured out for our last beach walk from Mahia Peninsula Holiday Park before hunklering down for the evening.
These are some shots in the campground, literally 50m from the beach.

This next pic is not so much interesting because Tiina is in the foreground (though of course that is both interesting and comforting), the key to this picture is the two locals in the background.

We (I) thought is was getting chilly and the guy on the right is strolling alongin t-shirt and shorts!
