Enjoyed nice long showers at the Top10 campground (felt like daylight robbery paying for parking there so might as well make the most out of long showers!)
Headed to the i-site to get some advice about the road to Cape Palliser and headed off after a coffee and filling the tank.
A short drive brought us to the Putangiruru Pinnacles hike.
We packed a lunch and took off along a path which quickly turned out to be a walk along a river bed with many crossings and finally a gravelly and rocky climb to view the pinnacles which also featured in the LOTR movie.
It was well worth the clambering! Glad we didn’t give up while trying to find a ricer crossing where we didn’t get out feet wet 😄
A nice relaxed night spent afterwards at the car park with not many people in sight.
